Baker secures permanent full time position at the University of Salford

Brett Baker recently secured a permanent full time position at the University of Salford in the Directorate of Music and Performance after a successful interview process at the end of June.

In speaking about the position Brett commented “I am very excited about the changes taking place at Salford and the fact that I can be part of the new team that will eventually move to new premises at the Peel Park campus in just over a year’s time. As Programme Leader for BA Music (Musical Arts) I will be involved in a number of initiatives to enhance the student experience, such as a new Saturday School, helping in a new composers competition, managing the smaller ensembles programme and helping to launch of a new symphony orchestra in 2015. I relish the opportunity of continuing to work alongside colleagues such as Robin Dewhurst, Howard Evans, Duncan Winfield and Richard Rock. It is a real dream come true to work in offices previously occupied by the likes of Goff Richards, Roy Newsome, Bob Childs and David King. Salford is legendary for producing some of the finest conductors, performers, soloists and composers and I aim to support, promote and assist the University in growing this area of the Directorate.”
